CrayScore™, Explained

What is a CrayScore™?

A CrayScore™ is a relationship risk score calculated from your answers about someone's real, observed behavior — 74 research-backed red flags across 18 behavior categories, weighted by how serious each behavior is and how often it happens. The higher the score, the stronger the pattern of risk.

The Basics

How the score works

You answer guided questions about behavior you've actually seen — in a date, a situationship, a partner. Choose your depth: Quick (the 10 major flags), Medium (37 flags), or Full (all 74 items). Each answer feeds a weighted model: severe behaviors like coercion and violence move the score far more than minor ones, and repeated behaviors count more than one-offs. The result is one number, a plain-English verdict, and a breakdown of every flag by severity — major, moderate, and other.

WHY A NUMBER?

Because “I have a weird feeling” is easy to argue away. “8 major flags” isn't.

The score doesn't replace your judgment — it gives your judgment something solid to stand on.

Under the Hood

The 18 behavior categories

Every item in the assessment belongs to one of 18 research-grounded categories. They're not weighted equally — Control & Coercion (13 items) and Violence & Safety Risks carry the most weight, because they're the patterns most strongly linked to real harm.

There's also a non-romantic version with the same 74-item structure — for roommates, friends, classmates, and anyone else whose behavior you need to read clearly.

Honest Limits

What a CrayScore™ is — and isn't

It is a pattern detector

It turns scattered observations into one structured read — so subtle patterns surface before they escalate.

It isn't a prediction

It identifies concerning trends with research-backed modeling, but it guides decisions — it doesn't guarantee outcomes.

It's only as honest as you are

The score reflects what you report. Answer about what you've actually seen — not what you hope — and it works.

Quick answers

Does the person know they're being scored?

Never. Nothing is posted, shared, or sent — the assessment is 100% private to you.

How long does it take?

Quick depth takes a couple of minutes; the full 74-item assessment typically takes under five once you know the app.

How much does it cost?

CrayScore™ is currently free — on iOS, Android, and the web.

How is this different from a SchemerScore™?

CrayScore™ measures overall relationship risk. SchemerScore™ answers a narrower question: is this person running an angle — for money, sex, or control?
