How It Works

The science behind knowing sooner.

Cray's reports are built on behavioral research — the same principles psychologists, investigators, and safety professionals use to identify risk, deception, and red flags. Now available to anyone in minutes.

The Foundation

Why behavior is the most honest signal

Profiles are performances. People curate how they look, what they say, and how they come across — psychologists call it impression management. But behavior is much harder to fake over time. What someone repeatedly does, across different situations, tells you who they are more reliably than anything they post or promise. Cray is built entirely on that idea.

01

Pattern recognition over isolated events

Single behaviors can be explained away. Repeated patterns across multiple dimensions are statistically meaningful and far harder to dismiss.

02

Severity and frequency weighting

Not all red flags are equal. Cray scores each observed behavior by how serious it is and how often it happens — higher-risk patterns like deception, pressure, and lack of accountability contribute more to your score.

03

Research-backed categories

74 red flags across 18 behavior categories — drawn from research on manipulation, coercion, and unhealthy relationship dynamics — so nothing important gets overlooked because you didn't know to look for it.

04

Reflection, not gossip

Cray scores what you've observed — it never crowdsources opinions, posts results, or notifies anyone. It's a structured mirror for your own experience, not a review site.

From Observation to Score

How a CrayScore™ happens

1

Answer honestly

Guided questions about behavior you've actually seen — in a date, a situationship, a roommate, or a friend. Choose your depth: Quick (the 10 major flags), Medium (37 flags), or Full (all 74 items across 18 categories).

2

Weighted scoring

Each answer feeds a weighted model — severity × frequency — that turns scattered observations into one number and a verdict, with every flag broken down by severity level.

3

Read the pattern

Your report explains what each flag means, why it matters, and what to watch for — so you stop wondering whether you're overreacting and start seeing what's actually there.

WHY IT WORKS

“Vibes lie. Patterns don't.”

Gut feelings are real data — but they're easy to argue yourself out of, especially when you like someone. A structured score gives your instincts something solid to stand on.

Honest Limits

What Cray is — and isn't

Not a background check

Cray evaluates real, observed behavior — not past records or static data. Optional lookups like OffenderCheck can complement the picture when you need them.

Not a review app

Nothing is posted, shared, or visible to anyone else — and no one is notified when you run a check. 100% private, by design.

Not a prediction

Cray identifies concerning trends with research-backed modeling — but it guides decisions rather than guaranteeing outcomes. The clarity is the point; the choice stays yours.
